For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45
At First UMC Cocoa Beach, we have a saying: "The church does not exist to serve me, but I exist to serve the mission of Jesus through the local church." The church is where we are called, equipped, and commissioned to serve others and make the world a better place. As we follow Jesus in this way, we are healed, set free, and transformed into his image. Since God designed the church to work together in this way, every baptized believer is gifted for ministry and has a mission-critical role to play.
What's Your SHAPE?
To help you find a meaningful place of service, we help you discover your SHAPE:
Spiritual Gifts
Heart
Abilities
Personality
Experiences.
When you put these things together, you can discern how God has uniquely wired you for ministry and find a place of service that fits who you are. We explore all of this in the Starting Point Class, but you can start now by learning about spiritual gifts and taking an inventory. Upon completion of the inventory, we encourage you to email your results to Pastor Mark and schedule time for a conversation.
