We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at First UMC a great one!

First UMC meets every Sunday and offers the following service times:

• Contemporary Worship at 9:30 a.m.
• Traditional Worship at 11:00 a.m.

In total, a service at First UMC is about 60 minutes in length. We typically offer a 30 minute social time before each service where people can enjoy coffee, talk, and prepare for worship. Services begin with announcements, music, and prayer. You can sing along and engage however you feel most comfortable. Then Pastor Mark shares a brief reading from the Bible along with an encouraging and hope-filled message. Finally we close with music and proclaim a blessing on everyone before we leave.

At First UMC we are authentic, inclusive, and compassionate. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as an honored guest.

While both worship services are inspirational and relaxed, they do have a different feel. The contemporary service is more casual with less tradition and more music led by a band with guitars, keyboards, and drums. Most elements of the service, like lyrics to songs, are projected on large screens. In contrast, the traditional service follows a more formal order of worship and includes hymns accompanied by an organ or piano and classic traditions like the Lord's Prayer, the Doxology, and the Gloria Patri. We encourage you to choose the service that feels most natural and best helps you connect with God.

Considering the ongoing challenges of COVID19, we want you to feel comfortable wearing a mask if it helps keep you and your family safe. Masks are not required, but we do not want anyone to feel strange wearing one in worship.

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week, and at First UMC we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. All who work with our children and youth must undergo a background check and get trained in our comprehensive Child and Youth Protection Policy. A nursery is available for infants to Pre-K upon request (please RSVP your child in advance so we can schedule an attendant) and children's church is offered for kindergarten to 5th grade.

There is ample parking around the church on the north and south side of our property. Signs will guide you to the sanctuary. We also have a wheelchair lift connecting the first and second floors of our main building and wheelchair parking in the sanctuary for those with mobility issues. Large print Bibles and hymnals are available for the visually impaired.
